The names of these honorees have recently been added to the Hall of Honor walls at the Park. A private viewing for family and friends will be held in the Hall of Honor between 12:30 and 1 pm before the ceremony.
The Ceremony at 1 pm will also honor Rodney J. Evans who gave his life in Vietnam and received the Medal of Honor for his bravery. The Park will place a plaque engraved with his citation on a column in the Memorial Plaza, joining the other Medal of Honor recipients from Alabama since 1900.
Major General James W. Darden will be the guest speaker for the 1 pm ceremony, and the Simmons Middle School choir will provide the special music.

2:15 PM StepStone Ceremony, American Flag Plaza
Family and friends of veterans have honored them by purchasing engraved pavers which have been permanently installed under the American Flag. This ceremony gives the families of the honorees an opportunity to speak on their behalf.

Golf carts will be available before and during the ceremonies for
those people needing assistance down the trail to the Plaza.
There is no admission fee and seating is provided for both ceremonies.
